Late Federal Paint-Decorated Blanket Chest
Pennsylvania, ca. 1830. Poplar, grain paint-decorated surface.
Over-all in excellent condition, original paint now oxidized.
The molded-edge lift-top opens to a well fitted with a covered till. The dovetailed case is supported by turned feet. the chest has a rare and unusual painted surface with semicircular and diamond form patterns in a faded salmon color throughout.
