Description
Exquisite cabinet having pair of doors flanked by engaged fluted columns which end in tapered legs with eggshell/ivory painted faux sabots, frontally decorated with eggshell/ivory painted large fragmentary oval inlay and superb carvings of flowers, acorns and scrolls in the form of column capitals and hinge/escutcheon surrounds. Two smaller drawers on top one large drawer, all fitted with round bronze pulls and decorative plates, resting on fluted skirt. Interior in oak with two (later) shelves, the whole parcel green painted. In maple burl, frontally book-matched. Retaining original key. By Maison Soubrier, with stenciled stamp on verso.
