Max Kuehne, Silver Leaf, Painted Wood, Rare Dresser or Chest of Drawers, USA, 1950s
Rare and important cabinet designed by Max Kuehne (German/American, 1880-1968) in the United States, mid 20th century. Signed "Max Kuehne" on the bottom right corner of the lower drawer front. This example features hand carved and silver leaf wood details, four pull out drawers having a bright floral motif on the drawer fronts, and a recurring abstract theme on the left and right side of the cabinet. The backside of the cabinet and drawer interiors maintain their original turquoise color.
