Description
This exceptional 19th-century Japanese mizuya tansu originates from the late Edo–Meiji period and showcases traditional craftsmanship in warm, deeply patinated wood. Its façade features an elegant combination of sliding doors, finely carved panels, and multiple small drawers designed for organized storage. The refined joinery and iron ring pulls highlight the understated artistry of Japanese cabinetry. Originally used in merchant or kitchen settings, this tansu blends practicality with timeless architectural balance. The piece remains a rare and authentic example of historical Japanese domestic furniture.
