Description
This fine pair of Louis XVI–style bedside tables by Mailfert is crafted in blond mahogany, showcasing the high-quality workmanship for which the atelier is known. Each table opens at the front with two drawers, fitted with round knobs set into small rosettes, and decorated with elegant brass rod inlays that highlight the neoclassical lines. The tops are finished with white marble, framed by an openwork brass gallery that has been professionally removed and polished to restore its original sheen. The tables stand on four square-section sheath legs, fluted at the front uprights and joined by a concave-front stretcher shelf for added stability and visual refinement. Each leg terminates in a brass shoe. Cleaned and preserved in very good original condition, this pair remains structurally sound and visually harmonious. Note: one marble top shows a small loss at the upper left corner, consistent with age and use.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
