Description
A well-matched pair of Swedish nightstands dating to circa 1880, crafted in pine and retaining their original black-painted finish with a deep, naturally developed patina. Each stand features a single upper drawer above a paneled cabinet door, offering practical storage in a compact footprint.
The drawer fronts are accented with fine horizontal millings, while the cabinet doors are framed with raised panel detailing, lending architectural clarity to the design. Original brass knobs remain in place, consistent with the period. The cases are slightly chamfered at the corners and stand on sturdy, tapered legs that provide both stability and proportion.
The surfaces show age-appropriate wear, contributing to the authenticity and character of the pair. Structurally sound and visually cohesive, these nightstands work equally well as bedside tables or small accent cabinets. Their restrained form and dark finish make them suitable for both traditional interiors and more contemporary spaces seeking historic contrast and depth.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
