Rare Federal Diminutive Two Drawer Serving Table
North Shore, Essex County, Massachusetts, ca. 1800-1810.
Figured mahogany, birds eye maple veneer, mahogany banding, and pattern inlay.
Over-all in fine original condition, retaining original brass hardware.
Provenance: Collection of a prominent Louisiana Family; Christies, New York, January 23, 1988, Lot 406.
This fine and rare Federal serving table in a desirable small size with great proportion has a case fitted with two long, birds-eye maple paneled drawer faces with banding above an arched skirt supported by turned and reeded, tapered legs. The piece is further enhanced with exceptional pattern inlays surrounding the top edge of the skirt.
