Description
Streamlined Art Deco Display Vitrine with Geometric Woodwork and Glass Shelves
This exceptional Art Deco display cabinet, or vitrine, is a striking example of late 1930s French modernist design, crafted in richly grained tropical hardwood—likely a form of walnut or teak—polished to a deep, warm luster. The streamlined silhouette and balanced proportions are accented by dynamic vertical and horizontal carved wood detailing, wrapping around the upper and lower sections of the case in sculptural, tiered bands that echo the era's fascination with architecture and machine aesthetics.
The vitrine features full glass side panels and doors, allowing a clear view of its contents from multiple angles and maximizing interior light. The doors open to reveal a spacious interior fitted with thick wood shelves that appear to float within the case, ideal for showcasing decorative objects, ceramics, books, or collectibles. Each shelf rests securely on wood brackets integrated into the case, maintaining both strength and visual clarity.
With its quality joinery, stylized motifs, and well-preserved finish, this piece captures the confident elegance of the Art Deco era. Functional storage or display unit, but also as a sculptural centerpiece for any room. Whether used in a salon, office, or collector’s gallery, it stands as a refined artifact from the Art Deco period. - More Information
