Description
A handsome Swedish sideboard from circa 1880, painted in a soft white finish that highlights the clean neoclassical lines and subtle carving. The upper frieze is decorated with an incised Greek key motif, lending a classical elegance to the piece. Three drawers sit above a pair of paneled cabinet doors flanked by additional doors, providing ample storage while maintaining symmetry and proportion.
The paneled doors are vertically reeded, a typical feature of late 19th-century Swedish furniture, designed to add texture and lightness to the otherwise solid form. Raised on short tapered feet, the sideboard balances sturdiness with refinement, its restrained ornamentation making it versatile for both traditional and modern interiors.
Functional yet elegant, this sideboard would serve beautifully in a dining room, living space, or entry hall—equally at home as a serving piece, storage cabinet, or as a statement of Gustavian-inspired design.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
