Description
Zenith Chairside Radio Bar With Glasses Art Deco Rare
Item #3583
Zenith Chairside Radio Bar With Glasses Art Deco Rare. This is a 1938 Zenith chairside model 7D241. This is a “Radio Bar” model offered for sale. It is original glassware with gold banded glasses (12 in total) plus two specialty pieces a martini shaker and a decanter. All matching period-appropriate glassware for it. As you can see they look like radio bar glassware. I’ve never seen one of these before and I think they were only made for a short period. Here is a chance for a Zenith collector, bar, or cocktail collector to own a unique restored v.intage radio bar.
The cabinet has been refinished, it is showroom-ready. The grille cloth is a reproduction of the period. Dial/Knobs: The Zenith “Back Dial” is in mint condition as is the dial glass. The brass pointer and red second hand move nicely around the dial. The 4 original Zenith wood knobs are also present. Electronics/Chassis/Cord: The 7-tube AC/DC Superheterodyne radio plays full dial scale.
Additionally, this radio has been fitted with a 1/8-inch adapter which will allow you to use this with your iPhone, smartphone, iPod, or record player. Access your old vinyl, or tune into Pandora, Apple Music, or the playlist on your computer to provide the tunes. Use the Bluetooth connection to bring the warm, bright, analog sound of a tube amplifier to any music or recordings you choose. The sound quality is excellent – ask any guitarist since these kinds of tube-based amps are still being made and used today. You will have the best of “digital” and “analog” combined.
We have sold many Radio Bar of America and Philco radios which all originally come with matching banded glasses. Maybe this was Zenith’s attempt to tap into that successful market. Here is an example of a RadioBar we have available for sale now.
