1970s Angelo Mangiarotti : pair of Rosa Verona marble "Eros" tables, Italy
-
Description
Italian architect Angelo Mangiarotti (1921-2012) created the “Eros” table series in 1971 — one of the most iconic examples of postwar Italian design in stone. The Eros series was revolutionary because Mangiarotti used gravity and precision engineering instead of adhesives or joints. The sculptural tabletops are perforated with a circular cut that locks onto the conical base purely by weight and friction. This pair in gorgeous Rosso Verona (Breccia Pernice) marble. Produced at specialized workshops near Verona Italy for Edizioni Skipper, Milan.
Sold as a pair. -
