Low Side Tables by Georges Candilis & Anja Blomstedt, France, 1960s
-
Description
Designed in 1968 by Georges Candilis and Anja Blomstedt in a small edition for the vacation village "Les Carrats" on the French Mediterranean coast near Port Leucate, these low side tables are icons of architectural modernism. Crafted from ash wood and raw aluminum, they embody a striking interplay of warm natural material and cool industrial detail. The design is unapologetically direct - geometric, minimal, and sincere in its construction, echoing the spirit of brut in its purest form. Exposed metal joints highlight the table’s structural honesty, turning function into a design statement. Priced per piece.
