Description
Antique Louis XVI style marble and ormolu mounted guéridon
French, Late 19th Century
Height 73cm, diameter 37cm
This beautifully proportioned guéridon table, crafted in the distinguished Louis XVI style, is a testament to the refined skill of 19th century French furniture makers.
Topped with a circular marble slab exhibiting exquisite natural veining, the table is bordered with a finely detailed gilt bronze (ormolu) rim that draws the eye. Supporting the top are three sets of paired, turned legs shaped in a stylised bamboo form - a nod to neoclassical taste - with a warm, organic aesthetic. These legs are united by a robust wooden stretcher at the base, adorned at its centre with a decorative gilt bronze finial.
Resting on three elegantly curved supports, each terminating in gilt bronze sabots, this guéridon combines structural harmony with ornamental finesse.
An ideal accent piece, it provides both style and function, perfect for displaying decorative items in either a classic or contemporary interior. -
