Description
This dining table by C. De Jong demonstrates a refined interpretation of Dutch Art Deco, informed by the expressive and architectural tendencies of the Amsterdam School. Crafted in solid oak, the design is characterized by its generous circular top and four cylindrical legs, unified by a structural base with an integrated rack. The composition is both functional and deliberate, with each element contributing to a cohesive and balanced whole.
De Jong’s work sits within a broader Dutch tradition in which furniture adopts an architectural presence, emphasizing mass, proportion, and material integrity. The restrained detailing and robust construction reflect a disciplined approach to design, where ornament emerges from structure rather than applied decoration. Suitable for four people, the table offers both practical use and a strong spatial presence. -
