Description
This Art Deco dining table was produced in France during the 1930s and reflects the sculptural and materially expressive approach associated with the work of Charles Dudouyt. Constructed in solid oak, the table is distinguished by its substantial cylindrical legs, carved stretcher base, and finely detailed edges that introduce a rhythmic architectural quality to the composition. The parquetry top displays a rich geometric grain pattern, adding visual depth and warmth while emphasizing the craftsmanship of the piece. Rounded feet and carved ring motifs reinforce the table’s bold yet refined character, balancing monumentality with decorative restraint.
Strongly rooted in the French Art Deco movement, the design reveals the transition toward a more rustic and organic interpretation of modernism that became characteristic of Dudouyt and related French designers of the period. The table comfortably accommodates up to 6 people and lends itself naturally to both collectible interiors and contemporary spaces seeking warmth, texture, and sculptural form. Its balanced proportions and expressive oak construction give the piece a timeless presence that remains highly relevant within modern interior architecture. - More Information
