Description
A sculptural low table by Axel Einar Hjorth’s from “Utö” series, Nordiska Kompaniet, Crca 1932. These collection, named after the island of Utö in the Stockholm archipelago, was designed for Swedish summer houses, It combines a simple, natural style with modern design.
Made of solid pine with a thick cylindrical base and a rounded top, it slightly raised edge that highlights the thickness of the solid wood and the natural pattern of the wood grains. The design shows Hjorth's skill in combining strong, geometric shapes with the comfort of natural materials. The piece's visible grain and tactile surface give it a timeless look that reflects both craftsmanship and functionality. -
