Description
This 17th century Danish center table represents the formal elegance of Northern European design, featuring a sturdy yet gracefully carved base that anchors a room with quiet authority. Its presence speaks to the sophisticated interiors of the Danish court, where furniture was crafted to be both a functional surface and a clear statement of social standing.
Circa 1680, this original period piece comes from an era when Danish craftsmen were masterfully adapting the grand styles of the Continent into their own distinct vernacular.
Crafted from dark, richly grained wood with a solid rectangular top and baluster-turned legs joined by a substantial stretcher. Rooted in the Baroque tradition, this table embodies the 17th century’s love for formal structure and elaborate proportions, offering a sense of history and permanence to a modern home. -
