Description
Charles Hollis Jones’ aesthetic is immediately recognizable amongst those in search of iconic pieces of design. Jones understood how to create with substance while primarily using the airiest of materials: Lucite and Glass. The motif is very much his signature, one that remains an inspiration to this day in the world of contemporary design. While this table may be one of his lesser known design pieces, we regard it as timelessly elegant and effortless executed in a way only Jones could do.
The Montage Workroom has restored this piece from the ground up. The original structural supports have been newly plated with rich polished Brass in celebration of the iconic Charles Hollis Jones aesthetic. Into each support slides a generously sized piece of brand new glass. The airy appearance of the brass supports and transparency of the glass suggest weightlessness in an otherwise quite substantial piece of design. The appearance of the table can be tailored to one's own taste by adjusting the supports either inward or outward; the shown placement is our suggested look. The result of the restoration is a Charles Hollis Jones collectable, renewed and refined to live on for yet another life. -
