Extraordinary, contemporary petrified wood coffee table on stainless steel feet. An amazing shaped, organic modern side table/ coffee table which polished topplate consists of rare, high quality petrified wood, showing a black/ gray/ brown surface adorned by beige and light brown veins running through it. The natural petrified brown/ gray tree bark around the edge builds an absolute fantastic contrast. Amazing designed stainless steel feet finalize the exceptional look of this modern organic side table.
Petrifaction is the result of a tree having been replaced by stone via a mineralization process that often includes permineralization and replacement. The organic materials making up cell walls have been replicated with minerals. Unlike other plant fossils, which are typically impressions or compressions, petrified wood is a three-dimensional representation of the original organic material which took millions of years to built.
