Description
Like fellow Brutalists Paul Evans, Silus Seandel and Adrian Pearsell, American born sculptor Daniel Gluck creates visually dynamic pieces that fuse artistic expression with functionality.
Considered the artist's masterpiece, the Brutalist style bronze Maze table is a frenzied, multi-tiered assemblage of lines and squares that offer a representation of the lines, shapes and materials used in modern architecture.
Gluck draws inspiration directly from earlier 20th century masters like Alberto and Diego Giacometti as is evident from his choice of materials and techniques. Coupled with his technical skill, the artist evokes the industrial elegance of Brutalism.
Multi faceted in his abilities, the Los Angeles based sculptor made significant contributions to Southern Californias artistic landscape in the later part of the 20th century. Extending beyond art and furniture design, Gluck worked in film production as a set designer where his aesthetic and creative vision set the scene for Paramounts highly successful ”Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn” and “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. -
