Description
The ‘Lightweight Porcelain’ collection brings porcelain to new and unchartered territories, in search of a material that is visually and sensually renewed. Comparable to a beehive or an intriguing mineral like pumice stone, it is also lighter and extremely resistant, and therefore adapted to innovative designs for furniture. Available in 3 models and 16 colors, these colorful benches and stools can also be used as side tables. They are indoor-outdoor and are often purchased with multiple pieces to create functional installations that also fill a space like sculptures. The 'Lightweight Porcelain' collection is exclusively produced and sold by Galerie BSL.
Dimensions and weight of the 3 models in the ‘Lightweight Porcelain’ collection are as follows:
- Adult Stool or Side Table: H 45 x D 30 cm - H 17.72 x DIA 11.81 inches - 13 kgs
limited edition of 10 + 2AP per color
- Children's Stool or Side Table: H 30 x D 24 cm - H 11.81 x DIA 9.45 inches - 6,5 kgs
limited edition of 10 + 2AP per color
- Bench or Table: H 47 x L 80 x D 40 cm - H 18.9 x L 31.5 x D 15.75 inches - 34 kgs
limited edition of 8 + 2AP per color
A true porcelain alchemist, Djim Berger literally reinvents the material to offer a version that is astonishingly stronger than standard porcelain, and therefore adapted to innovative designs for furniture. This technical performance is obtained by mixing 1/3 of porcelain and 2/3 of polystyrene pearls, an exploit that professionals thought impossible to achieve, because of the high quantity of added polystyrene. Once the piece is in the oven, the fire burns the polystyrene and reveals the new porcelain. -
