FEDERAL WORK TABLE
Attributed to Duncan Phyfe

Primary Wood: Mahogany
Secondary Woods: Tulip Poplar, Mahogany
Height: 29 1/2 inches
Width: 22 1/2 inches
Depth: 16 1/2 inches
The work table has the “fluted drum” found on a number of documented Phyfe pieces including a number of items in the Brinckerhoff suite. See plates 17-19 of Peter Kenny et al, Duncan Phyfe, Master Cabinetmaker in New York.
