Dutch 19th Century Oak Gateleg Dining Table
-
Description
This large oak dining table is a Dutch interpretation of the traditional English gateleg table, c.1840’s. The oval top having a rounded edge, atop a shaped apron, over substantial turned legs with block feet and joined on all four sides by a molded stretcher, the whole with rich color and patina. The gateleg form is very useful as the table can be folded up against a wall when not in use and can easily be turned back into a full dining table when needed, or even used with one leaf out as a console table. Seats 10 comfortably.
