Dutch Biedermeier High-Gloss Birch Center Table

A dazzling birch veneer center table or writing desk, made in the Netherlands circa 1820. The high-polished quality of the wood brings out the extraordinary grain patterns that show movement in natural lighting: thin and linear on the surface and more curvaceous waves (like burls) on the apron. These are inviting details if used as a small desk, and the symmetrical design (without drawers) is equally suited for a center table to view in the round. Cabriole legs are slender and graceful, their shapely figure tapering down into a slight curve at the foot. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to maintain the beauty of the wood, ready for your interior. Light scratches and some discoloration, otherwise we believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
