Description
Eero Saarinen’s Pedestal Collection remains one of the most iconic achievements in modern furniture design. Often called the “Tulip,” Saarinen created the collection to eliminate the visual clutter of traditional table and chair legs that dominated the 1950s. His elegant solution was a single sculptural pedestal, a smooth, central stem that meets the floor with unprecedented grace. This revolutionary form quickly became a design classic and expanded into a family of chairs, accent tables, and, as featured here, dining tables.
This 60” Round Pedestal Table combines generous proportions with a streamlined silhouette, comfortably seating six while maintaining an airy, timeless presence. The sleek white laminate top offers durability for everyday use and wipes clean with ease. Its sturdy aluminum base, finished in Knoll’s signature gloss white, provides an elegant complement to the tabletop. This original table shows only minor wear consistent with age and history, and pairs perfectly with Eero Saarinen’s famed design; the Saarinen Executive Chair. -

Stories exist in many forms, we see them in objects. The aesthetic of those before us is passed down through their surviving creations. These are the objects we search for; to preserve, refine, & continue the story. Object Refinery combines design obsession, fine craftsmanship, and a love for history in our worldwide search for objects. Based in Connecticut, USA; we partner with a network of local artisans to restore and refine our findings before passing them on to the next collector.
