Description
A fine circa 1835 English late regency, William IV period rosewood library table of robustly drawn double-sided form, the rectangular top with moulded edge above flat freezes with centred flat tablets and rounded-edge corner-blocks, one side with two concealed or "hidden" drawers, surmounting tapered octagonal pedestal ending in a thick concave moulded 'collar' joining 'quatreform' concave shaped base raised on massive carved lotus-leaf topped lion's paw feet concealing original brass castors. While both sides are finished, it would also function beautifully as a console in an entry or hall, as well as a sofa table or as a server in a dining room.
Provenance: Connecticut gentleman collector's estate. -

Origin: England Period: 19th Century Materials: Rosewood, oak, brass Condition: Good. Top with minor historical stains from use, 'collar' at pedestal base with non-detracting repaired age cracks, and base top veneer with non-detracting age shrinkage cracks as shown.
