Description
New England, possibly New Hampshire, ca. 1800
Birch with red paint
Over-all in great condition, evidence of later black paint removed revealing original red paint. Minor losses and wear.
Provenance: Collection of a prominent Long Island, New York family.
A wonderful example of a high-county Federal candle stand having a square top above an elongated turned shaft with a chip-carved urn supported by a tripod base with cabriole legs.
