Description
Large double-sided Renaissance-style writing desk with secrets, stamped and inscribed by François-Pierre Leglas-Maurice, Nantes, France, 1878.
It won a gold medal at the 1878 Paris Exposition Universelle. It is shown in the right-hand corner of the Renaissance cabinet drawing below.
It is in carved blackened pearwood with precious fillet inlays, with a precious wood marquetry top.
All the interiors are in lemon tree wood. -
