Description
A danish solid teak coffee table, produced by France & Son in the Sixties.
This coffee table stands out for its simple line and a mechanism that allows expanding the surface when needed. The main teak top slides on dedicated rails, allowing the small extension folded on the sides to be positioned horizontally. Additionally, it features a fixed tray covered in vinyl, designed to facilitate the placement of glasses and bottles without risking to compromise or stain the wooden surface. This detail represents a simple precaution, an optional feature that often distinguishes furniture of Northern European origin, where attention to the functional, or even multifunctional, aspect of furnishings is a distinctive trait of the projects by the most important designers of the period.
France & Son is a significant industrial entity that has placed its enameled mark, depicting a raised double F, on items signed by the most influential designers of the period.
Offered in original condition and professionally restored, the dimensions of the table are: 120/32 x 53 x 45 cm. -
