French 18th Century Butcher’s Table

A dramatic French marble and ironwork table from the 18th century, which was used to display current offerings in a butcher shop or bakery. The marble top measures 1 inch thick and shows beautiful signs of use and wear over the years. Some scratches and denting, which combine nicely with the patinated surface to convey the piece’s age and its utilitarian function. The cast iron base features sweeping C-scrolls and finely polished brass ornaments. Remnants of the base’s original paint still remain. The table sits on casters for easy repositioning for any space and purpose it may serve. This butcher’s table is a practical addition for a home bar, kitchen, greenhouse or patio. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Some chipping on corners.
