French 19th Century Butcher Block Dining-Work Table

$ 6,500
  • Description
    Dimensions: 30 ⅛” H x 70 ¾” W x 31 ⅞” D

    A unique butcher-block top table from 19th century France, that deftly navigates the demands of a kitchen or farm, to pivot between dining and preparation. The large work surface is composed of a number of narrow strips of oak, refinished to a smooth, lightly patinated texture and golden color. The thick apron contains three storage drawers per long side to organize kitchen gadgets and utensils or whatever one might need around the home, farm, or creative studio. Four square, muscular legs support the mass of the table joined by an H-form stretcher to leave 64” between the legs for dining chairs, stools, or benches. The proportions and inherent strength of the table could easily adapt to a multitude of uses, lifted on casters and adapted into a kitchen island or work table. Thoroughly leaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax this antique farm table is ready to join your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out directly with any questions.
