This expansive French oak drapery table/workbench from the 19th Century is sturdy in its squared-off design yet light in its openness. The top is made from four planks of oak with stunning reminders of its utilitarian function: moments of scoring, staining, and scratching across the richly patinated surface. All throughout, the wooden dowels used in the table’s construction are visible. The table’s simplistic design makes it versatile. Its height of 35 ⅝” suits it for use as a work surface or kitchen island while its lower shelf is perfect for open storage or for making displays. Regardless of its function, this table would be a unique addition to any space. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors.
