-
Description
A classic Louis XVI style desk from 19th century France. Crafted from a richly patinated mahogany and inset with a worn leather top. The slides are inset in the same manner as the top and bring the maximum width to 72” when out. Finished on all sides with paneling and drawers inset with brass banding for an extra touch of antique sophistication. The lengthwise center drawer features a functioning lock and has a knee clearance of 23-⅝”H . The side drawers’ clearance is 19-¾”H. The right hand side features two drawers, each with a functioning lock. The left hand side is a single, deeper drawer with a fixed key that houses a small exposed part of the drawer and a private compartment with a slide top. The hidden storage sections lock no longer functions but the top slide still provides some privacy. Turned, fluted legs are fixed with brass sabot feet. 2 keys are included. Make sure to view the detailed images for a closer look at the current antique condition of the desk.
