French Art-Deco Executive Desk in High-Gloss Macassar Ebony and Brass
-
Description
French Art-Deco design is often considered the epitome of luxury and refined aesthetic. Typically proportionally perfect and materially exquisite, pieces of French design from this era remain highly sought after even to this day.
This Executive Desk was crafted from exotic Macassar Ebony wood, a species with zebra-like grain and rosewood in color. Our team restored this piece’s original high gloss finish to perfection, leaving every angle a pleasure to look at. We also maintained the black-painted accents which contrast the Macassar Ebony beautifully. On each cabinet door are un-lacquered solid brass pulls, substantial in form, and are the perfect complement to the timelessness of this Art-Deco masterpiece. Each corner of the desk is rounded which softens its overall presence with each side of the desk rises ever so slightly above the desktop. Each cabinet door interior is an incredible inlaid oak; the left cabinet contains three generous drawers, and the right offers two equally generous returns. Lastly, the desk contains a sizable center drawer, making the storage in this piece ample.
The Object Refinery team took great pleasure in returning this piece of French Art-Deco Design to its original intended brilliance. The desk has a substantial presence but it is in fact quite delicately proportioned. As all sides of the piece are finished, this desk would look wonderful in absolutely any environment, and in any position. - More Information

Stories exist in many forms, we see them in objects. The aesthetic of those before us is passed down through their surviving creations. These are the objects we search for; to preserve, refine, & continue the story. Object Refinery combines design obsession, fine craftsmanship, and a love for history in our worldwide search for objects. Based in Connecticut, USA; we partner with a network of local artisans to restore and refine our findings before passing them on to the next collector.
