Description
A gilt-bronze gueridon with a circular black fossil marble top set within a molded bronze rim and a conforming lower tier also inset with black fossil marble. Three curved supports have projecting eagle-head terminals, each holding a loose ring in its beak, and terminate in large bird-talon feet with foliate and scroll detail. The supports are joined by an incurved tripartite stretcher centered by a cast foliate rosette. French, circa 1880.
