French Louis XIII Style 1890s Walnut Side Table with Curving X-Form Stretcher
-
Description
A French Louis XIII style walnut side table from the late 19th century, with baluster legs, single drawer and X-Form cross stretcher. Created in France during the last quarter of the 19th century, this walnut side table showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XIII era. The table features a rectangular top sitting above a single drawer fitted with iron handle on petite floral backplate. This drawer, along with the sides, is slightly grooved. It is the base however, which attracts our attention with its very elegant Louis XIII style turned legs connected to one another through a curving X-Form stretcher, marked in its center with a circular medallion. The ensemble is raised on four bun feet. With its elegant Louis XIII lines and walnut patina, this French side table circa 1890 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, perhaps placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer.
