French Massive Mahogany Restauration Console
-
Description
An extraordinary mahogany and marble topped Restauration console – constructed in massive scale – from early 20th century, France. The beautiful piece of antique gray marble has white veins running throughout and rounded front corners which are reflected in the body. This wonderful stone does have a break, which had been professionally repaired prior to our sourcing the antique in France. This can be viewed in the detailed photos. The console has been finished with mahogany veneer. Scrolled supports brace the top and serve as the table’s front legs, which end in incredibly-carved paws. The back is supported with two more simply-finished legs, as they are meant to sit flat against a wall. The console’s plinth base is patinated and raised slightly by cylindrical feet in the front and rectangular feet in the back.
