FRENCH OAK ROUND SCULPTED FREE FORM EDGE BRUTALIST COFFEE TABLE CIRCA 1960
-
Description
French round with asymmetrical carved edge honey colored oak coffee table from the 1960's.
The table is composed of 6 laminated layers of French oak, each showcasing a different grain of the wood. The massive legs also are composed of laminated layers of French oak. One could call it brutalist chic, rustic, almost primitive chic but certainly was created by a highly unattributed skilled wood artist.
The top is 2.5 " thick. Legs are 4.75" w x 2.5" d x 15" h.

Message from Seller:
Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
