Description
FRENCH OAK SIDE CARVED TABLE ART DECO AFRICANIST INFLUENCE ATTRIBUTED TO CHARLES DUDOUYT
Sculptural French Art Deco period or c1940 carved side table. Hand carved individual diamond pyramid faceted motif oak embellishments along the edge. Each in prefect original condition. The motif continues on the column midway with 3 rows of the motif and along the base.
The top has been designed to be a chess checker board motif with inlaid squares are 2"x2". Through age the squares have lifted from the table but are not loose. Could be restored but we chose not to alter anything original to this remarkable table.
The color is a rich dark stained oak similar to Charles Dudouyt and is attributed to Dudouyt.

Message from Seller:
Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
