French Transitional style ormolu mounted wood étagère
French, late 19th Century
Height 80cm, width 54cm, depth 37cm
This fine étagère—a shelved side table—is crafted in the Transitional style from mahogany and gilt bronze. The table features an oval top with a gilt bronze gallery above an apron mounted with openwork foliate friezes in gilt bronze. The table top is supported by four legs, the bottoms of which curve like cabrioles. The legs are connected by a lower shelf, which is bordered with a frieze of gilt bronze swags. -
