PK61 coffee table by Poul Kjaerholm for Fritz Hansen in grey marble with satin-brushed stainless steel base.
With a love for minimalism, Danish designer Poul Kjaerholm designed his pieces with an understated and elegant fashion, finding preference for steel, which he combined with materials such as leather, wicker, marble and wood. Kjaerholm's work has been described as modest in means but rich in expression, while he always considered function and comfort.
The coffee table PK61 demonstrates the four base elements are joined with machine screws that lend the table part of its unique look. The removable tabletop demonstrates Kjaerholm's recurring principle of using gravity to keep the elements in place.
