Artistic Table Base of Cast Iron Gears and RR Spikes Welded 1970s Extraordinary

$ 5,200
  • Description
    A studio crafted table created in the 1970s from an interesting and unique selection of cast iron gears, sprockets, and various splined drive shafts artistically coupled with a cross stretcher of slag welded spikes attributed to the American sculptor / Folk Artist Tom McCarthy .
    The base as constructed is capable of supporting a variety of rectangular, round, or oval glass tops and the four legs have cast hard rubber bumpers that are the support points for whichever glass top is chosen.
    The restoration sand blasting eliminated 50 years of rust and stabilized the surfaces which were then resprayed and brushed with a color matched epoxy paint that should last for the next 500.
    The table comes with an 84" X 42" glass top.
