Description
2 Italian Mid-century Modern Neoclassical Consoles in Gilt Iron with an Inset Amber Crystal Medallion, and with Tops of Persian Travertine, by the Italian Sculptor and Designer, Giovanni Banci. Banci was an important designer for the Hermes stores and in these works he continues his pure, modern, yet classical vision of elegance. Purity and drama are hallmarks of Banci. Each console is delicately hand hammered and hand gilt with the hammer marks visible adding to the authenticity of the pieces. They are arranged symmetrically and united with the cross-stretchers forming a double "Y". The dramatic focus is single upper cross bar which is centered with a rare and exquisite amber crystal medallion. The pieces are topped with extraordinary Persian Travertine
Each console is priced and sold individually. Stone dimensions: 35"L x 11 7/8" W x 1.5" thickness
