Description
Handsome Mahogany Butler’s Tray on Stand, English, circa 1870. Perfect for coffee service after dinner, a cocktail tray, or even as a wonderful, guest room, bedside table.
A traditional butler's tray was originally designed for serving beverages and food. It was a folding table that he would carry anywhere, whether serving drinks in the drawing room, lunch on the patio or coffee in the library. The butler's tray is an indispensible tool and every household should have one.
There are several types of butler's tray. Some have a slight rim for carrying beverages or plates; others have specific functions, such as a cutlery tray for setting the table.
