Description
Large Dining Table designed by Hans Wegner and manufactured in Denmark. Beautiful Rosewood top and elegant base with chromed legs. The table can be extended up to a width of 260cm. Hans Wegner (1914-2007) was a Danish furniture designer who is often credited with helping to define the "Danish modern" style of furniture design that emerged in the mid-20th century. He created a number of iconic furniture pieces that are still popular today, and his work is recognised for its simplicity, elegance, and functionality. Wegner worked for a number of furniture manufacturers throughout his career, including Johannes Hansen, PP Møbler, and Carl Hansen & Søn, and he collaborated with other designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Børge Mogensen. Wegner's furniture designs often incorporated natural materials such as wood, leather, and cane, and he favoured simple, unadorned forms that emphasised the beauty of the materials he used. He was particularly known for his use of traditional craftsmanship techniques, such as mortise-and-tenon joints, which gave his furniture a sense of durability and timelessness.
