Italian 18th Century Silver-Gilt & Marble Console
-
Description
An impressive silver-gilt Italian console from the late 18th Century. The worn and patinated white marble top is smooth and makes for a durable surface. The base is hand carved with floral swags, bows and a cameo in the center. The legs are tapered with foliage cravings. Due to its age and nature of the narrow legs, you’ll find forged iron brackets on the back legs for additional support, a repair from long ago that continues to thrive. Be sure to view the detailed images for a closer look.
