Description
A highly unique Italian stylized coffee table, the surface with spectacular blue glass, the rectangular frieze with two drawers, also in blue glass with horizontal brass pulls and brass outline, the whole in creamy white hand-carved fluted design and supported on creamy/white painted splayed and tapered legs ending in elegant brass sabot. A rare and unusual piece, so indicative of the glamorous post-war Italian period in design. Extremely well-made with beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. The piece is finished all-around, with an enclosed drawer on the backside which holds space for a light bulb to create a back-lit effect. (Not electrified for USA, if desired for electrical use).
Italy, circa 1950.
