Description
Dimensions: 29 ⅛” H x 62 ½” W x 31 ¼” D
Italian late 19th century oak trestle table with two large inset marble tiles in the surface as a decorative and yet durable feature that becomes part of the tablescape. The captivating Saint Anne marble squares exhibit sporadic white veining among the dark gray stone, which are inset and outlined by the beautiful oak planks of visible peg joinery. Thick, crossed legs on each end is a distinctly Italian style known as “cavalleto”, shaped in an undulating profile of scrolled edges which support the robust scale of the table. Another unexpected detail are the club-shaped, forged iron keys protruding from the intersection of the legs and trestle to hold the stretcher bar. Ideal to seat six guests, this handsome table has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to maintain all the historic character. There are a few minor flakes around the edges of the marble, otherwise we believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition and message us with any questions.
