Description
An Italian Baroque period walnut refectory table from the 17th century with four drawers, carved lyre shaped base and wrought iron stretchers. Born in Italy during the 17th century, this exquisite Baroque period walnut refectory table epitomizes the grandeur and intricate craftsmanship of its era. The table features a robust rectangular top, underlined by an apron measuring 24.75"H. Four drawers are elegantly integrated into the apron, each adorned with raised diamond motifs that serve as a backdrop for simple wooden pulls. These authentic details add a touch of sophistication and historical charm to the piece.
The table is supported by a beautifully carved lyre-shaped base, showcasing the masterful woodwork characteristic of the Baroque period. The lyre legs are connected to the table's underside by a double wrought iron stretcher, which features gracefully scrolling lines that enhance the table's ornate aesthetic. The combination of rich walnut wood and wrought iron creates a harmonious blend of materials, emphasizing the table's timeless appeal.
This 17th-century Italian refectory table is perfect to be placed in a large entryway or living room, where its historical significance and intricate detailing can be fully appreciated. The table’s combination of functional design and decorative artistry ensures it will be a cherished centerpiece in any home, celebrating the rich heritage of Italian craftsmanship and the opulent beauty of the Baroque era. -
