Description
A refined Italian late 18th century Neoclassical walnut desk, distinguished by its elegant proportions and understated sophistication. The rectangular top showcases the warm, rich figuring of walnut, framed by delicate fruitwood string inlay that lends subtle contrast and architectural precision.
Raised on slender turned tapering legs, the silhouette is graceful and balanced, embodying the restrained symmetry associated with the Neoclassical period. The single frieze drawer, fitted with its original-style circular brass pull, offers practical storage while maintaining the desk’s clean and harmonious façade. Fine fruitwood marquetry detailing along the edges and drawer front enhances the piece with quiet decorative refinement without overwhelming its minimalist character.
The warm patina and beautifully aged walnut surface reflect the craftsmanship of late 18th century Italian cabinetmaking. Ideal as a writing table, side table, or elegant accent in a study, bedroom, or salon, this versatile piece brings timeless continental sophistication and functional beauty to both traditional and modern interiors.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
